See you next time! SUDOKU CHALLENGE: |
HOW TO MAKE LOCAL SEARCH WORK FOR YOU
If your business takes place online only, then you don't need Local Search. For everyone else, it's a must. Even if you don't have a brick-and-mortar store, or you don't see clients at your location, people who are looking for your service are learning to search by location. Local Search helps your business to come up when a geographic location is entered with other search terms. Search, for example, on "Haddonfield web development" on Google. You will see a map of the area, with 10 web development businesses which are clustered in the area. Or go to your location (eg., 08054) on Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/), click "Search nearby" in the balloon on the map, and enter keywords (eg., daycare) for the type of business you are looking for. Local Search isn't new, and it is evolving, particularly as mobile devices become more sophisticated. There are many flavors of Local Search, including Superpages.com and Citysearch, where you will need to pay for a listing. Others, like Google and Yahoo!, are currently free. I'm going to discuss how to get listed on Google and Yahoo!. click to learn how to get into Google and Yahoo Local Search... QUICK TIPS - PASSWORD SECURITY QUESTIONSHow secure are your password security question answers? The ones like "What is your mother's maiden name?" and "What elementary school did you attend?" Even if you're not a high profile figure like Sarah Palin, your accounts can be hacked by people who know or can find out the answers to questions like these. Ms. Palin's Yahoo! email account uses a scheme that is used by many: if you "forget" your password, you can reset it by correctly answering the security question. So how can you defend against someone else resetting your password, and thereby gaining access to your account (and blocking your access to it)? learn more about Security Questions ... TECH TRIVIA - PASSWORD CRACKINGHow long (maximum) will it take a brute-force password cracking program to correctly guess a non-dictionary password consisting of 8 characters (including at least 1 upper case, 1 lower case and 1 numeric character - eg., AbCdEfG8)?
