IS IT SAFE TO UNSUBSCRIBE?

We know the problem. The number of incoming emails keeps growing with no end in sight. If you bought anything online during the holiday season, you've probably been flooded with promotional emails from every company where you made a purchase. How do you regain control?

Maybe you've heard that you should never reply to spam emails. That only tells the spammer they succeeded in finding a valid email address, and you'll now be added to even more spam lists. And that is definitely true for non-legitimate emails.

But the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 now requires commercial emails to contain a method for recipients to unsubscribe, usually located at the bottom of the message. Scroll down and find the link you can click to safely unsubscribe. You may find that you have re-subscribed in the future if you purchase from them again, but for now, your inbox will be that much cleaner.

Should you unsubscribe from CyberGnus? You can - there is a link at the end of this message. But we hope you won't! We'll be bringing you information we think will be useful to you. We hope you agree.

QUICK TIPS

Web pages taking forever to load? Even with a high speed Internet connection, over time you may see your browser speed decrease to a crawl, no matter what website you try to access. While this could be caused by a number of things, first try clearing your browser cache.

Your browser stores both images and text on your local computer in an area called cache. If it needs to display those files again, it's quicker to get them from your local machine than from the webserver. Unfortunately, over time the cache grows, until eventually it is full of outdated information. Clearing the cache and restarting the browser could be the solution!
